that for most people, choosing a DJ is often difficult and
confusing, yet the most important decision you will make for
your wedding reception. Since everyone claims to be "the
best", how can you really find out who is good, and who is amateur? For a once in a lifetime event like a wedding reception, your best start is with a professional. Don't take chances with "a friend of a friend". Although people mean well, lack of experience or skill will not prepare them to handle unexpected details.
First, I recommend you start with a wedding specialist. A DJ from a club or school dance may be great, but they're not necessarily right for your wedding.
Secondly, meet with the DJ Company. This is not a decision that can be made over the phone. You must be sure you are comfortable with the DJ's style and see if it is a good match for you. After all, they will be representing you at your wedding reception.
Then, check
the history and background of the DJ Company. Do they have
references? And don't just take their word for it, call
several of their references and find out WHY the client loved
their DJ.

ABOUT THE OWNER
Anaheim DJ is owned and operated FULL-TIME by DJ/Master of Ceremonies Don Panzik, also known as The Surround Sound Guy. Don has been in the entertainment business his entire professional career and is the areas leading expert in the field of weddings and entertainment. His passion for music and entertaining started at age 5, when he heard The Beatles for the first time and his parents started buying him records.
Don began to work as a Professional DJ at the Slipaway in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands in 1985. Later that year he began to spin for some of the other hot spots on the island as well as performing with some of the musicians on the east end of the island.
Don worked as Entertainment Director and managed the island's most popular nightclub on the east end of the island, "For the Birds". With Don's expertise in finding talent and creating shows for the guests and tourists, he created a huge stir and made For the Birds the hottest spot on island in TWO WEEKS! It seemed like an overnight success to the owners. Other clubs on the island began trying to copy Don's formula. They couldn't do it - Don created his secret formula.
Don spent 3 years touring the islands and the New England states. He built a strong following wherever he travelled, which included the South East, New England, the Caribbean and out west - Arizona, Hawaii, Mexico & California, where he has remained since 1989.
Don has continued to build a strong reputation as a Master of Ceremonies and Wedding DJ. In 1999 he became a member of the prestigious American Disc Jockey Association.
The majority of Don's work is from word-of-mouth by clients and attendees of his events over the years. His reputation is based on clean, sound ethics and professionalism, as can be verified by his large reference base.
Although Don has shared the stage with some very successful recording artists, such as Nantucket, Molly Hatchet, Rick Springfield & Eddie Money, he considers the following as some of his main mentors: Bill Connors (Massachusetts), Rick Burgess (Orange County), Ray "Raymar" Martinez (Arizona), Randy Bartlett (Sacramento) & Mark Imperial (Chicago).

ABOUT ANAHEIM DJ
After performing the first wedding reception in upstate New York (1979), Don's reputation has continued to grow. When word spread about his performances, companies and event planners sought Don out for his unique talents. For over 15 years in Orange County, Los Angeles and the Inland Empire, Anaheim DJ has been the choice of brides and event planners throughout the Southwest.
Don has shared the stage and performed alongside of Bon Jovi, Eddie Money, Rick Springfield, the Chambers Brothers & Slash, to name a few.
His calendar quickly filled with referrals from other couples and corporations, leading Don and crew to be the busiest DJs in the area, often booked up to 3 years in advance with Weddings, Corporate, and Social Events. It is best to reach Don at least 4 to 12 months in advance to secure a contract.
